This PGA TOUR event--the 10th oldest tour event--is Houston's largest and most prestigious golf event hosting 144 of the world's best golfers competing for $6M in prize money.
Since 1974 Houston Golf Association's volunteers have generated more than $55.2 million for local worthy causes through the Shell Houston Open and other golf-related activities. Over 125,000 spectators will enjoy tournament week.
NBC Sports and The Golf Channel are the broadcast homes for the 2016 Shell Houston Open. Thursday's first-round and Friday's second-round action will be televised on The Golf Channel. Saturday's third-round and Sunday's Championship Round will be televised by NBC Sports.
The tournament is presented by Shell Oil Company and the Houston Golf Association.
