Tired of the Same, Old Menu Items? Give These 3 New Restaurants in Houston a Shot

Even though the coronavirus pandemic continues, brand new restaurants are still debuting their menus across Houston. Considering how the current circumstances have affected the dining industry most significantly, restaurants continue to prove themselves as the masters of adaptation and are truly shining in this brave new world of dining.

While most restaurants in Houston have reopened their doors for dine-in service, plenty of diners are still choosing to stick to takeout to stay as safe as possible. Fortunately, most hot new eateries are serving up their full menus for takeout and delivery, which means that there are still plenty of opportunities to enjoy their star dishes. Not sure where to start?

Here are 3 new Houston restaurants to sink your teeth into!

The Nash – 1111 Rusk Street, Houston, Texas 77002

Set inside Downtown’s The Star, which is known to most native Houstonians as the Texaco Building, The Nash serves modern American cuisine with bold flavor and fresh ingredients. With an eclectic selection of appetizers, main dishes, and desserts, The Nash leaves little to be desired for its patrons. Try their Atlantic Salmon, served with confit new potatoes and garlic spinach or 16-ounce prime ribeye with your choice of side. Pizza, burgers, and even lamb chops – you’ll find it all at The Nash.

Street to Kitchen – 6501 Harrisburg Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77011

An alum of Justin Yu’s Theodore Rex, Chef Benchawan Jabthong Painter is serving what she describes as “unapologetic Thai cuisine” at this East End newcomer, Street to Kitchen. Everything there is made from scratch, including the curry pastes and sauces that go into traditional dishes, like Pad Thai and Massaman Curry. You can even get your wing fix with their order of lemongrass wings, served with flagrant yellow rice and chili cilantro sauce – just make sure to finish it off with their mango sticky rice for dessert!

Bludorn Restaurant – 807 Taft Street, Houston, Texas 77019

Chef Aaron Bludorn comes to Houston by way of the Daniel Boulud culinary empire. His namesake restaurant recently made its long-awaited debut and is already stunning diners with dishes, like lobster pot pie, dry-aged NY strip steak with twice-baked potato, and short rib ravioli made with fig, onion, and blue cheese. Make sure to make room for their stellar raw bar or rockstar-worthy appetizers, including foie gras with apple, brioche donut, and hazelnut. Can you say, “yum?”
