Combining RnB with Gospel, Tori Kelly Has a Sound Like No Other

The Wortham Center is home to Houston Ballet and Houston Grand Opera. Since its opening in 1987, Wortham has entertained more than 8 million people. Bold and beautiful, the Wortham is a facility like no other. It is a masterful, creative playground for performing artists and offers an array of public spaces, both monumental and intimate.

Luckily enough for new and old fans alike, Tori Kelly is coming back to Houston to perform at Wortham Center in support of her album, Hiding Place. She surprised fans a couple of weeks ago by revealing that she was releasing a gospel album as the follow-up to Unbreakable Smile. Hiding Place, a collection of songs written by (or with) the legendary Kirk Franklin.

I flew out to Dallas and Kirk showed me a few songs he’d written, and I fell in love with all of them,” Tori says of the album. “Next thing you know, one song turned into us doing a whole project together. I grew up on gospel music, so the fact that a legend like Kirk Franklin would take me under his wing was just a dream come true.”

Guests on the Hiding Place Tour will include Jonathan McReynolds and Lecrae. Don’t miss out on the chance to see Tori Kelly perform live on Tuesday, November 3rd!
