Mark Your Calendar for the Apollo Chamber Players presentation of Houston Melharmony

Be sure to catch an innovative performance from the Apollo Chambers Players as they present Houston Melharmony, a show that features the world premiere of a commission inspired by the Indian ragas of renowned slide instrumentalist and composer Chitravina N. Ravikiran. This new work is based on Ravikiran’s system of Melharmony, a ground-breaking approach in world music that fuses Western classical and jazz music with and the melody-centric systems of Indian classical composition, making this performance a groundbreaking musical event you won’t want to miss!

The Apollo chamber Players will also be exploring is the profound influence of Indian music on American Minimalist composers Philip Glass and Terry Riley, and this special presentation will feature dancers from Silambam Houston. Joining the ensemble will be guest artist Robin Kesselman, the Principal Double Bass of the Houston Symphony. It’s a must-see show that every music lover!
